For over 50 years children and their loved ones have been taking the magical journey through Candy Land! They've shared special times with Mr. Mint, Lolly, and even Lord Licorice. They've snuck through the Gumdrop Mountains on their way to see Gramma Nutt, and they've lingered in the Lollipop Woods. They've skipped past the swamp with the hopes of being the first to make it to Candy Castle. This simple color-matching game introduces the youngest of children to the wonder of playing a board game with their family and friends. This updated version brings more color and excitement into the magical world you've known since you were a child.

The game requires no reading on the part of the players and is easy for even the youngest of children to follow. Players move their gingerbread people around the rainbow path, moving through the Peppermint Stick Forest by matching the color spaces to the colors on the pick deck. The player who reaches the Candy Castle first wins.

Very bright and colorful, the playing cards are designed so that players do not have to be able to read. Draw a blue card, move to the nearest blue stepping-stone; draw a snowflake and earn a visit to Queen Frostine's iceberg.

For learning puposes, Candy Land teachers young players how to follow directions, follow the ruls of the game, practice the patience of waiting for their turn, and number skills. Children are encouraged to socially interact in a controlled manner, which helps develop their social skills and prepare them for school and other activities.
